She was born July 27, 1946 in Houston, Tex., and was raised in San Angelo, Tex.

She was born July 26, 1941 in Burg. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Bessie Crowell Mitchell, 100, of Cerro Gordo died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, in De Queen.
She was born Oct. 19, 1917 in Murfreesboro. She was a farmer, a homemaker and a member of State Line Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo.
Funeral services were held Nov. 12 at State Line Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Cerro Gordo Cemetery.

Mrs. Teresa Irene Teel Shotts, 78, of De Queen died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 in Texarkana, Tex.

Charles Golden
Charles Henry Golden, 93, of Grannis died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 in Bear Creek Healthcare, De Queen.
He was born to John Mathis and Constance Ione Carr Golden on June 10, 1924 in Meridian, Tex. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grannis where he served as a deacon. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and served in the United States Army during World War II and in Korea. He retired as a manager at United Farm Industries and returned to Arkansas to be a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Sevier County Chapter of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association.
Funeral services were held Nov. 15 in the First Baptist Church of Grannis with Bro. John Wisenger and Bro. Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Mineral Cemetery in Gillham.

Ronald Wayne Morgan, 58, of Foreman died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at his home.
He was born to Lynville and Thelma Dean Morgan on Nov. 24, 1958.

James Terry Wax
James Terry Wax died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at his home in Gillham.
He was born July 18, 1937 to Delbert and Irene Cooper Wax in Gillham. He was the owner and operator of different businesses and raised cattle. He was a member of Gillham Baptist Church and a Mason. He was also a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict as a medic.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillham Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the funeral home.

Hazel Joyce Sims
Hazel Joyce Sims, 86, of De Queen passed away Nov. 13, 2017 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Center in Ashdown.
She was born Aug. 2, 1931 to George and Jewell Anders of Waco, Texas.
Services were held Nov. 17 at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Tex.

Jimmy L. Burnett
Mr. Jimmy Leon Burnett, 69, of Midland, Tex. died Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, after a long time battle with COPD.
He was born in Levelland, Tex. to Garland Leon Burnett and Thelma Allene Merworth Burnett on Oct. 15, 1948. He served in the United States Army from May 1968 to May 1970. He was a brick mason and a Baptist.
Tthere will be a graveside memorial service at Chapel Hill Cemetery at at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19 2017, Services provided by Wilkerson Funeral Home. Family will be available at 1001 W. Janssen Ave. in De Queen.

Frank Lloyd Pierce
Frank Lloyd Pierce, 91, of Vandervoort passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 in Fayetteville. He was born July 7, 1926 to Robert and Sally Pierce in Brownwood, Tex.
He served 21 years in three branches of the military: Navy, Army and the Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
Funeral services were held Nov. 16 at the Vandervoort First Baptist Church with Brother Roy Brooks officiating. Interment was in Witherspoon Cemetery in Vandervoort by Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations for Bibles at Vandervoort First Baptist Church will be greatly appreciated.

Paul Dean Stone
Paul Dean Stone, 81, of De Queen died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 at Christus St. Michael in Texarkana, Tex. He was born to Paul Lynn and Josephine Nalley Stone, in Tishamingo, Okla., Sept. 9, 1936.
He was a graduate of De Queen High School and Ouachita Baptist College. He was in the Army Reserves, a marksman on the rifle team, and an NAIA All American Football player at Ouachita. He was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of De Queen. He was a teacher at Lockesburg High School and a school bus driver for Lockesburg and De Queen schools, as well as a 32nd Degree Mason.
He retired from Woodmen of the World Life Insurance after 22 years of service.
Funeral services were held Nov. 17 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Chapel Hill Cemetery with Brad Justice officiating.

Enrique "El Cantante" Cruz Cardoso, 50, of De Queen, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 at his home.
He was born Sept. 28, 1967 in Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in De Queen. He was also a singer in a band in Mexico.

Mathis Cordell "Matt/Shot" Cleghorn, 73, of Foreman died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at his home.
He was born April 19, 1944 in Alleene. He was a retired millwright for Domtar, a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Foreman, a 32nd degree Mason and Past Master of the Rocky Comfort Lodge #468.

Mrs. Violet Corine Sharp Hedrick, 89, of Horatio died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 in Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana.
She was born to T.D. and Hyacinthe McLeod Sharp in Lockesburg on Nov. 7, 1927. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio and was retired from Knod's Wholesale Grocery, where she was an accountant.

Mrs. Nelda McPherson
Mrs. Nelda Elizabeth Clay McPherson, 87, of Arlington, Tex. died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, in Arlington.
She was born March 3, 1930, in Paraclifta. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.

Andrew Shane Griffin
Andrew Shane Griffin, 18, of Horatio died Oct. 21.
He was born to Shane and Sandra Griffin Feb. 23, 1999. He was 2017 graduate of Horatio High School. He was the starting shortstop and a pitcher on Horatio's 2016 class 3A state champion baseball team.
He worked with Artex Electric of Texarkana, Ark., in the National Electrical Apprentice Program associated with UA Cossatot to begin a career as an electrician.
A celebration of his life was held Oct. 28 at Horatio Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Hillis officiating. He was laid to rest in Old Center Cemetery in Central Community of Horatio.

James L. Jamison
Mr. James Lloyd Jamison, 82, of Foreman. formerly of Gillham passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, in Texarkana, Tex.
He was born Dec. 2, 1934, in Levelland, Tex. He was an electrical engineer at Ash Grove Cement for 35 years. Mr. Jamison was a Methodist, past president of Tex/Ark Antique Auto Club and MOTAA, and a member of Pate Swap Meet. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran and served during the Korean conflict.
Funeral services for Mr. Jamison will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Robert Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Gillham Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 3 at the funeral home in De Queen.
