Mrs. Billie Rogers Candler, 83, of Lockesburg, died April 17, 2017 in Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana.
She was born Nov. 3, 1933 in Ben Lomond. She worked as a paralegal for a law firm in San Francisco, Calif. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in San Francisco.
Funeral services were held April 22 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen, with Rev. Roy Dell Nelson officiating.

Mrs. Billie Fern Callan Brake, 80, of Winthrop, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Bear Creek Healthcare in De Queen.
She was born Aug. 26, 1936 in Foreman. She was an employee of Texas Instruments, a homemaker and a cafeteria worker at North Garland High School. She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held April 22 at Highland Park Baptist Church in Texarkana, Tex., with Bro. Kevin Myers officiating. Burial followed at Dollarhide Cemetery in Foreman.

Mary Sue Wherley
Ms. Mary Sue Wherley, 85, of Dierks, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Dierks Health and Rehab.
She was born July 27, 1931 in Mississippi. She was a first grade school teacher in Pine Bluff for 30 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
Graveside funeral services were held April 21 at Mt. Ida Cemetery near De Queen with Sue Ellen Hall officiating.

Mrs. Tonya Lynn Golden, 46, of De Queen, died Friday, April 21, 2017 in Hot Springs.
She was born May 10, 1970 in Arcata, Calif. She was a homemaker and attended the Beacon Hill SDA Church.

Ruthie M. Chandler Marshall, 82, a life-long resident of Sevier County died Monday, April 17, 2017, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
She was born to Roy and Alta Ramsey Chandler in the Westline community on Jan. 20, 1935. She was a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Homer Frachiseur and Bro. Shane Haarmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at the funeral home.

Keith Reese Gilbert, 85, of Green's Chapel, died Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born Sept. 30, 1931 in the Green's Chapel Community near Dierks. He was a school administrator, a U.S. Army veteran, a Gideon and a rancher. He also served on several corporate and nonprofit boards and was a member of the Dierks United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held April 8 in Dierks United Methodist Church with Rev. Carroll Jackson officiating. Burial followed in Green's Chapel Cemetery.

Chelsea Ann Richardson, 25, a resident of Crossett and former resident of Horatio died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Crossett.
She was born to Ray Lynn and Jane Ann Callahan Richardson in De Queen on Oct. 1, 1991. She was a graduate of Horatio High School and had received her BA degree from UALR. She was the softball coach at Crossett schools as well as a Special Education teacher. She was a member of the Williamson Community Church.

He was born Dec. 20, 1931 in Alleene. He was a heavy equipment operator at Domtar in Ashdown; was a member of First Baptist Church in Winthrop and a Mason. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Susan Leann Gore, 46, of Cabot, died Thursday, March 30, 2017.
She was born June 23, 1970, in Little Rock, to Bobby Joe and Bertha Lee Fausett.
She graduated from Lonoke High School in 1988 and from UCA and UAMS with her Bachelor of Science. She worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital for over 23 years and primarily worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m Thursday, April 6. Graveside service will follow at Siloam Cemetery in Enola.

Ronald Edwin Hale
Ronald Edwin Hale, 82, of Bryan Tex., died March 28, 2017.
He was born in Lockesburg Dec. 2, 1934 to Naomi and Reese Hale. He graduated from Lockesburg High School in 1952 and from Henderson State Teachers College in 1956.
He retired in 2004 as Vice Chairman of City National Bank of Bryan after a 37 year career with that institution. Before entering the banking field, he was an executive with Boy's Club of America and was one of the founders of the Boy's Club in Bryan.
He served in the US Army and Army Reserve for over 30 years. He received the Legion of Merit upon his retirement in 1986.
Funeral services were held April 1 at First United Methodist Church in Bryan, Tex.

Mary Frances Sharp Fielden, formerly of De Queen and Lockesburg, died in Stillwater, Okla. March 23, 2017.
Mary was born Dec. 18, 1922 to Ethel Knox Sharp and Jesse B. Sharp in Lockesburg.
After graduating from Southeastern State College in Durant, Okla., she was a long time elementary school teacher in Pasadena, Tex. and Eagletown, Okla.

He was born Oct. 1, 1937, in Poteau, Okla. He was retired from the offshore oil industry and served in the Arkansas Air National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church in De Queen.
Funeral services were held March 28 at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston with the Rev. Jeff Holland officiating. Burial followed at Morris Cemetery in Bloomer.
