Dan Wayne Chilcoat, age 72, a resident of Lockesburg, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home.

He was born July 30, 1941 in Red Lick, Texas. He was retired from the Arkansas Forestry Service.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Travis Lane and Jerrel Helms officiating. Burial followed in the Coulter Memorial Cemetery.

Mario Cisneros
Mario Cisneros Murillo, age 39, a resident of De Queen, died near his home in De Queen.

He was born to J. Guadalupe Cisneros Zavala and Elena Murillo Ayala on Feb. 18, 1975 in Michoacan, Mexico.

Funeral Mass was held Monday, April 21, 2014 at 12 noon in Saint Barbara Catholic Church with Father Edward D’Almeida officiating. Visitation was held Wednesday and Thursday at Chandler Funeral Home. A Rosary was held at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 20 and visitation was held at Saint Barbara Catholic Church Sunday, April 20, 2014.

Dillard D. Hill, age 83, a resident of Dierks, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his home.
He was born Oct. 1, 1930 in the Burg Community near Umpire. He was a logger all his life and a Baptist.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Dierks First Baptist Church with David Blasé officiating. Burial followed in the Burg Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

John H. Butler
John H. Butler was born on Nov. 17, 1928 at Lockesburg to Henry and Emma Young Butler. He died April 17, 2014 at Wadley Hospital, Texarkana, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 in Lockesburg First United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating. Burial followed in the Belleville Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Leroy Clyde Hallman, age 72, died Wednesday, April 15, 2014 at his home in Arlington, Texas.

Stanley David Snead
Stanley David Snead passed away Monday April 21, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Stanley was born August 22, 1948 in Baytown, Texas.

Visitation was held Wednesday April 23, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown.

Funeral Services were held Thursday April 24, 2014 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Ashdown with Rev. Butch Riddle and Rev. Ben Jones officiating.

Burial was followed at Ashdown Cemetery in Ashdown. Arrangements are under the direction of Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown.

Jesse B. Sullivan

Jesse B. Sullivan, age 69, of Wickes, Arkansas died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Friday, April 13, 1945 to James Harrison and Eunice Ethel Cook Sullivan in the Baker Community.


Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Holbert Auditorium at the Wickes Campus at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor John Heide, Leon McCleskey, Jon Newlin and Pastor Billy Sullivan officiating. Internment will follow in the Baker Cemetery in Wickes under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Marlin Ray Allen, age 81, a resident of Lake Charles, La., died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at his home.

He was born Feb. 25, 1933 in De Queen to Walter Allen, Sr. and Tompie Willmon Allen. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was owner of Allen’s Financial Services and Used Cars in Lake Charles and he was a Christian.

Viola Wright Williamson, age 68, a resident of Paulding, Ohio, and former resident of Mineral Springs, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014.
She was born in Mineral Springs to John and Francis P. Young Clardy.

She was born Aug. 1, 1923 in Las Cruces, N.M. She had been manager of the Holiday Inn at Idabel, Okla., for many years and was a sorority mother to many young women at New Mexico State University.

Mrs. Louise Talley Lay, age 80, a resident of Atlanta, Texas, and former resident of De Queen, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at her home.

She was born to Thomas James and Sarah Rachel Irvan Talley in Horatio March 29, 1933. She was retired executive assistant at De Queen City Hall, and a homemaker. She was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Atlanta, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 in the Williamson Community Church, Horatio, with Bro. Jimmy Roden officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen. There was a visitation after the service.

Norman C. Turner, age 64, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at his home.

He was born to Harold Lee and Mae Velma Smith Turner in De Queen July 20, 1949. He was a former employee of Zachary, Inc., Victoria, Texas, where he served as foreman. He was a veteran of Vietnam having served in the U.S. Army.

He was born to Joe Michael Johnson, Sr., and Mary Bernice Stricker Johnson in De Queen April 17, 1943. He served in the military with the National Guard, and was a retired employee of Pilgrim’s Pride. He was an active member of the Union Community Church.

Glenn Edwin Rainer, Sr., age 87, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at his home.

He was born to Lawrence and Mattie Brown Rainer in Lamesa, Texas Dec. 16, 1926. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired truck driver as well as manager of truck terminals for over 30 years. He was a Baptist and attended First Baptist Church of De Queen.

Hubert Williams, Sr.
Hubert Thomas Williams, Sr., age 84, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 in De Queen.

He was born Jan. 29, 1930 in De Queen. He received his ROTC commission from Henderson State in 1952; served in Korea and was a captain in the inactive reserves. He was an educator for 36 years as a coach, teacher and administrator. He was a member of First Baptist Church in De Queen.

Mrs. Mary Pamela “Pam” Cartwright Gist, age 66, a resident of Wilton, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 in the Christus St. Michael Hospital.

She was born to L.C. “Buddy” and Shasta T. Reed Cartwright in Texarkana March 5, 1947. She worked in medical records for various nursing homes, including the Little River Nursing Home, and was an associate of Walmart in Ashdown. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Roy Gene Cobb, age 71, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Friday, February 28, 2014 in De Queen.

He was born July 6, 1942 in Lockesburg, Arkansas. He was a rancher, a Justice of the Peace on the Sevier County Quorum Court for 17 years and a member of the Horatio Church of Christ.


Funeral Services for Mr. Cobb will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the De Queen Church of Christ with Virgil Romine and Van Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in the Millwee Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Don Smith
Don Carlton Smith was born March 7, 1948 in Hughes Springs, Texas to W.T. (Budo) Smith and Ludie Vaughn Smith. He departed this life to a better place on Feb. 27, 2014 in a local hospital with family and friends by his side, at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Visitation will be at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will also be at the Funeral Home on March 4, at 11:00 AM. with Bro.George Frachiseur officiating.
Interment will be at West Otis Cemetery following the service.

He was born April 2, 1925 in Dierks. He was a laundry supervisor and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Dierks.

She was born to Bryace R. and Martha Michael Bryant in Earlsboro, Okla., July 19, 1921. She was a retired employee of Stanislaus Food Products of Modesto, Calif. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mr. Harold David Bray, age 86, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas died Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Dierks Health and Rehab.

He was born April 24, 1927 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He was a retired sawyer with Weyerhaeuser. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII, and was a Baptist.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bray will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Rev. Kenny Fant officiating. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery.
