John Edward Richards, age 41, a resident of Horatio, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Horatio.
He was born June 21, 1973 in Nashville. He was a truck driver.

Mrs. Lottie Suggs
Mrs. Lottie Lou Belcher Suggs, age 74, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana.
She was born in Hensley on July 28, 1940 to Mose and Maddie Elizabeth Campbell Belcher. She was a retired employee of Pilgrim’s Pride as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Williamson Community Church.

Graveside funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 in Mt. Ida Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Roden officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Deborah Poole
Mrs. Deborah Odetta Haley Poole, age 62, a resident of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at her home.
She was born to Roy Junior Haley and Lola Rae Buck Haley Pratt on Dec. 26, 1951 in Mesa, Ariz. She was a homemaker.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Bernice Tatum
Mrs. Bernice Walker Tackett Tatum, age 78, a resident of Brookewood Nursing and Rehab in De Queen, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born March 10, 1936 in Portland, Ore., to Joseph R. and Hazel Robbins Walker. She was a member of the Church of Christ in De Queen and had worked outside the home as a librarian and cook.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tye Barnett officiating.

James Earl “Pop” Rogers, age 80, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at his home.
He was born May 18, 1934 in Greenville, Texas. He worked for Brown & Root and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Clyde McCown
Clyde McCown, age 84, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home.
He was born to Velvin and Ruby Haney McCown in Ada, Okla., on Oct. 1, 1929. He was a member of the De Queen Church of the Nazarene and was a retired brick mason.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 in the De Queen Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Billy Sullivan and Rev. Byron Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 7 at the De Queen Church of the Nazarene from 1 p.m. until service time.

Mrs. Willie Nora Young Crisp, age 98, a resident of Dierks, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 in Carthage, Texas.
She was born May 20, 1916 in Provo. She was a homemaker and a member of the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 in the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Daniel Barrera, Larry Frye and Clyde Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the McHorse Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Bill James
William Oliver “Bill” James, age 74, a resident of Elk Grove, Calif., and De Queen, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 in Kaiser Hospital, Sacramento, Calif.
He was born to Dannavey and Dora Blanton James in Wickes on Dec. 29, 1939. He served in the military with the U.S. Army and was a general contractor. He was retired owner of Hillside Apartments in De Queen.

Larry Romine
Mr. Larry Ray Romine, age 71, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at his home.

He was born February 7, 1943 in Horatio. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. Larry was the owner of Romine Oil Company in De Queen; he was a former employee of Sun Oil Company where he was awarded the Distinguished Salesman award.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2014, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Virgil Romine and John Lindsey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Larry Romine Memorial Fund, c/o First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 450, De Queen, AR 71832 and will be distributed to the Mary and Martha Center, Reese’s Rainbow, an agency that advocates for the adoption of children with special needs, and Arkansas Children’s Hospital, all of whom held a special place in Larry’s heart.

Ronald Lee Simmons, age 59, a resident of Lockesburg, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born July 7, 1955. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Lockesburg First Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 in the Lockesburg First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Gilliland officiating. Burial followed in the Coulter Memorial Cemetery in Lockesburg, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Larry Dean Autry
Larry Dean Autry, age 69, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born July 27, 1944 in Mena, Arkansas. Larry was the previous owner of Harris Drug Store. He graduated the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy in 1973 and practiced pharmacy for 41 years.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Autry was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Chad Gallagher officiating.

Emma Emerson

Emma Lula Moseley Emerson, age 97, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.

She was born November 24, 1916 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. She was retired after 31 years of service to the De Queen School Food Service. She enjoyed quilting, bowling, crocheting, playing cards and bingo, and working in her flower garden.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emerson were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.

Timothy Ray Fenwick, age 61, a resident of Tyler, Texas died Monday, July 21, 2014 in Tyler.

He was born June 12, 1953 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was a Christian.

Lois Fenton, age 94, a resident of Star City and formerly of Horatio, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 in the Gardner Nursing Home in Star City.

She was born Oct. 22, 1919 in Sevier County. She graduated from Horatio High School, worked at Casteel Grocery Store, was active in P.T.A. and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in the Horatio Cemetery with Dr. Tandy Hanson officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Dixie L. Cryan
Dixie L. Reese Cryan, a resident of Elma, N.Y. and former resident of De Queen, died Thursday, July 17, 2014.

She was born Jan. 4, 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Cryan and siblings David and Dorothy Reese.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 21 at the First Baptist Church of Elma, N.Y.
