Ethel Faye Kinder Keaster, age 82, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016.
She was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Swifton to E.B. and Eula Nelson Kinder. She was a homemaker and a devoted Christian working in the food pantry in her church.
Funeral services were held July 30 at the Dierks Assembly of God with Bro. Kevin Herrington officiating. Burial followed in Fellowship Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Mrs. Midge Divine Burris, age 90, a resident of Horatio, died Monday, July 25, 2016, in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born to Ameal and Nola Smith Divine in Sevier County on March 5, 1926. She was a retired nurse, and a member of Mt. Phebia Baptist Church of Horatio.
Funeral services were held July 31 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Sunset Acres, Horatio.

Mary Viola Wilburn, age 83, a resident of Fayetteville, died from a heart attack Thursday, July 28, 2016, in Springdale.
She was born May 30, 1933 in Baldwin, the daughter of William Silas and Donna Ester Patrick Hester. She was a homemaker.
Graveside services were held Aug. 2 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fayetteville, under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mrs. Phyllis Mae Berti, age 75, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, July 23, 2016, at her home, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Blue Island, Ill. on Jan. 27, 1941, to John and Helen Smola Ekert. She worked as a medical records technician as well as a homemaker. She was of the Catholic faith.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Johnson officiating.

Mrs. Rebecca Jean “Becky” Higgins Stiles, age 75, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, July 30, at her home.
She was born to Marvin O’Neal and Hazel Lee Helms Higgins in Mineral Springs on Jan. 7, 1941. She graduated from Gillham High School in 1958. 
She retired in 1997 after a 39 year career with Weyerhaeuser Company.
She was an active member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Food Committee, and Vacation Bible School Food Committee.
Funeral services were held Aug. 2 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Carlton and Bro. Joe Carlton officiating. Burial followed in Redmen Cemetery.

James Elmer Bishop, age 67, a resident of Shreveport, La., died Saturday, July 2, 2016, in Shreveport.
He was born Nov. 1, 1948, in De Queen and graduated from De Queen High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy from November 1967 until August 1973, a veteran of the Vietnam War.
His cremains were buried in the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, La., on July 18.

Debra Johnson
Mrs. Debra Ann Clardy Johnson, age 66, a resident of Horatio, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Horatio.

She was born to Winfred Clardy and Dorothy Jean Martin in Horatio on May 26, 1950. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Rubin and Everene Martin. She was a RN 48 years, working in the Labor and Delivery for St. Michael Hospital and De Queen General Hospital. She also was the nurse for the Sevier County Developmental Center and was on the Horatio City Council. She was an active member of the Mt. Phebia Baptist Church, where she served as superintendent, church clerk and church treasurer.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Horatio. Burial will follow in Sunset Acres, Horatio, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 16 at Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, from 5-7 p.m.

Harace Junior Merworth, age 90, a resident of Haworth, Okla., died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Overton Brook VA Medical Center in Shreveport, La.

He was born June 13, 1926 in DeKalb, Texas. He was a self-employed brick layer; a Word War II Army veteran and a life-long member of the Church of Christ.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Bobby Tatum officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7 at the funeral home.

Merle Charles Wilbur, age 90, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born Sept. 3, 1925 in the West Otis Community. He was a former employee of Dierks Lumber Yard and a World War II Army veteran.

She was born Dec. 24, 1933 to Thomas and Dona Rose Duggan in Grannis. She was a published poet and a Baptist.

Mrs. Maria Viviano de Bello, age 68, a resident of Atlanta, GA, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in Atlanta.

She was born July 17, 1947 in Acapulco, Mexico. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Beacon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Spennett Nash officiating. Burial followed in the Beacon Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Linda Williamson Nealy Padilla, age 67, a resident of Richland, WA., and former resident of Horatio, died Jan. 24, 2016 in Richland.

She was born to Lawrence "Snooks" and Mary Williamson in De Queen on June 22, 1948. She studied art at Arkadelphia College and later became a cosmetologist. She was a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband, Larry Nealy.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the Williamson Community Church, Horatio, with Bro. Jimmy Roden and Sherry Dodd officiating.

Ramsey Dewayne Huckaby, age 66, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 in the UAMS Hospital, Little Rock.

He was born to Felix Harrison and Louise Ramsey Huckaby in De Queen on Oct. 20, 1949. He was retired from the Sevier County Road Department, retiring with 41 years service. He was an active member of the Old Time Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Avon Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Dr. L. Don Brown
Dr. Llewellyn Don Brown, age 70, a resident of Cave Creek, Arizona, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the family home place, Horatio, Arkansas.

He was born to Tommie and Snowie Belle Coulter Brown in Horatio, Arkansas, on July 15, 1945. He was raised in the Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U. S. Army. He went on to serve as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering with Kraft Foods and Senior Vice President of Container Operations & Technology at Coors Brewing, retiring in 2001. He was awarded an honorary doctorate of law degree from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1998, and is being inducted into the UAPB Hall of Fame for Business this October, 2016. He had a passion for golf, traveling, photography, woodworking and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Inez Wyatt Brown of Cave Creek, Arizona, three daughters and a son-in-law, Daria Akilah Kamila Brown of Portland, Oregon, Ellynn Donisha Brown of Los Angeles, California, and Dalila Jinelle Brown and Edgar Bautista of Plano, Texas, a grandson, Antonio Llewellyn Bautista of Plano, Texas, and an adopted grandson, Alex Bautista of Plano, Texas, a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Juanita Brown of Chicago, Illinois, a sister, Patricia “Pat” Brown-Dixon of Kansas City, Missouri, and more than twenty nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Dr. L. Don Brown will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 16th at the Horatio First Baptist Church, 207 Hazard Street, Horatio, Arkansas 71842. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home for a Birthday Fellowship in honor of Dr. Brown on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 5 to 7:00 P.M.
