Mr. S.G. Eason, age 87, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born December 19, 1927, in Gillham, Arkansas.  He was retired from Kirkpatrick Pulpwood and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lockesburg.  He was passionate about his family, work, gardening and his dog.

Funeral Services for Mr. Eason will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015, in First Baptist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Jack Gilliland officiating.  Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

C.E. Hendrix
C.E. Hendrix, Jr. age 75, of Horatio, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.
He was born July 4, 1939, in Sevier County.  C.E. was a devoted member of Horatio First Baptist Church serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.  He was Chairman, President, and CEO of Horatio State Bank and a Board Member.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hendrix will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 in Horatio First Baptist Church with W.L. “Bill” Ashburn IV and Jerry Hill officiating.  Burial will follow in Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nancy Easlon
Mrs. Nancy Louise Easlon, age 64, a resident of Broken Bow, Okla., died Monday, March 2, 2015 at her home.
She was born to Arbrey and Ella Faye Perry Boles in Texas on March 24, 1950. She worked in home elder care and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Helen Powell
Mrs. Helen Ruth Barfield Powell, age 81, a resident of Gillham, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Gillham.
She was born to Frank W. and Dolores Hale Barfield on Sept. 7, 1933 in Hico, Texas. She graduated from Gillham High School in 1951, worked for De Queen Telephone Company and Tri-Lakes Services for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gillham where she taught Sunday School for more than 30 years.

Funeral services were held at Gillham First Baptist Church Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Bro. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Burial followed in the Valley Cemetery in Gillham, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 6 at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Randy Mitchell
Randy Paul Mitchell died March 4, 2015 at Shreveport VA Medical Center.
He was born in Idabel, Okla., in 1955. He served in the USAF from 1975-1989 at Edwards AFB CA Rocket Propulsion Laboratory and worked for the USDA as a food inspector until his retirement in 2006

Funeral services were held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Stateline Baptist Church, Cerro Gordo, with Pastor Ray Brown officiating. Burial followed in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Bill Irvan
James William "Bill" Irvan, age 50, a resident of Mountainburg, died Wednesday, March 4 at his home.

He was born to James William "Willie" Irvan, Sr., and Alma Jean Johnson Irvan in De Queen Aug. 7, 1964. He was a truck driver and a Baptist.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Horatio Cemetery with Bro. Heath Daniel officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Walter Odell Beckwith, age 72, a resident of De Queen, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at his home.

He was born to Walter and Pearl Wagner Beckwith in Hatton on Dec. 29, 1942. He was retired from the oil fields.

Amber Denise Wagner
mber Denise Williamson Wagner, age 32, a resident of De Queen, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at her home, after a two year battle with cancer.

She was born December 28, 1982 in De Queen. She was a mammographer and a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen.

Funeral Services for Amber will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in the First Baptist Church in De Queen with Rev. Josh Herweck and Rev. Faron Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10th at the funeral home.

Barbara Anderson
Mrs. Barbara Jo Stuart Anderson, age 85, a resident of Foreman, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 in Ashdown.

She was born to Joe Dillon and Mae Coffman Stuart in Horatio Nov. 4, 1929. She grew up in Horatio and worked for White Lumber company. She also worked for the City of Ashdown and the city of Foreman, where she served as recorder/treasurer, water clerk and city council.

She also worked for the Horatio School District and the City of Horatio as recorder/treasurer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Camellia Garden Club, where she was past president. She was also a member of the American Legion.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Virgil Romine and Sister Joyce Green officiating. Burial followed in the Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Eddie Pettigrew
Walter Edwin "Eddie" Pettigrew, age 48, a resident of Ashdown, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 in a Little Rock hospital.

He was born to James Edwin "Cowboy" and Loretta Stringfellow Pettigrew Jan. 25, 1967 in De Queen. He was an electrician with Chewning & Wilmer Contractors and was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church in Texarkana. He was a member of IBEW Local 301.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen, with Rev. Jimmy Roden, Rev. Joey Brewer and Rev. Kevin Meyers officiating. Burial followed in the Old Center Cemetery, Horatio, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

She was born July 2, 1917 in Pattonville, Texas. She was a homemaker, a charter member of the Walnut Springs Church of Christ and a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Tye Barnett, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Millwee Cemetery.

Dorothy Baysinger
Dorothy Jean Baysinger, 78, of Fulton passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Boone Hospital Center.

She was born March 14, 1936 in De Queen, Ark., the daughter of Harvey Robinson Hendricks and Rosie Louise Halter.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. The family received friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in in Unity Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Arvie Della "Wallie" Nash Peppers died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015.
She was born in Glenwood April 1, 1944.

She helped her husband on the farm and retired after working 23 years for Walmart as a pharmacy technician.

Robert Gene Runnels, age 67, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 in Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana.

He was born to Harvey and Lucille Fisk Runnels in De Queen Jan. 4, 1948. He was a former employee of Weyerhaeuser Company Dierks Mill, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Industrial maintenance. He was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.

She was born to Jake and Myrtle Lea Sutton Hensley in Horatio April 13, 1923. She was a member of the Church of Christ; was retired from De Queen High School Cafeteria and was a homemaker.

Carroll Horn
Carroll Horn, age 72, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at his home after a long battle of cancer.

He was born to James Alexander and Francis Elizabeth McKnight Horn in Nashville Oct. 18, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army with the rank of 2nd Lt., serving in Korea with the Air Defense Artillery.

He was transferred to Fort Polk as Company Commander in charge of Army trainees.

He later transferred to the Army Reserves with the rank of Captain and was over the 95th Division in Nashville, leaving the Reserves as Major. He was a retired industrial engineer for Weyerhaeuser Company and a Baptist.

Roy Lee Davis
Roy Lee Davis, age 86, a resident of Eagletown, Okla., died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 in Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born Oct. 3, 1928 in the West Otis Community, near Horatio. He was a welder, millwright, served in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Timothy W. Conatser
Timothy William (Pops) Conatser, 63, of De Queen, AR went to be with his wife Peggy waiting on him in Heaven on February 15, 2015.

Timothy was born August 18, 1951 in San Antonio, TX to Jerry and Pearl Conatser. His family moved to Horatio, AR when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Horatio High School in 1969 and attended SAU in Magnolia for 1 semester and then enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Timothy served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict era, then another 14 years in the Army National Guard. Timothy married the love of his life, Peggy Louann Jones, on March 10, 1979.  They were married 28 years. He was a Water Treatment Operator for the City of De Queen for the past 31 years and was a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Smallwood officiating.  Burial followed in the Mt. Ida Cemetery in De Queen, AR.
The family received friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 17th at the funeral home.

Robert M. Gore
Robert Mack Gore, age 86, a resident of Grand Prairie, Texas, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 in Arlington Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 8, 1928 in De Queen. He served in the U.S. Army and worked in the aircraft industry until retirement from Bell Helicopter in 1988.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015 in the Millwee Cemetery with Jason Carlton officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Anthony James "A.J." Bennett, age 26, a resident of Midland, Texas, and former resident of Cove, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Henry C. Shuffield
Henry Clinton Shuffield, age 96, a resident of Ben Lomond, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 in DeKalb, Texas.

He was born to Austin Hallie Burton and Hattie Lena Yancey Shuffield on May 27, 1918 in Bismarck. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a rancher and retire owner of National Livestock Commission Company in Texarkana and the Hope Livestock Co. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Ben Lomond.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Burial with military rites followed in Wofford's Chapel Cemetery, De Queen, under the direction of Chandler Funeral home, De Queen.

Mrs. Ina Johnnie Maddox Harp Whisnant Cox, age 94, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, February 10 in Horatio.

She was born February 21, 1920 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Marion Demps and Dessie Weldon Maddox. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen, a member of the Eastern Star, a past president and secretary-treasurer of the Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the AARP #2178, Farm Bureau, the Gillham EHC, and Woodman of the World.

Del Litchford
Mr. Franklin Del Litchford, age 73, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 in the Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana, Texas.

He was born to Joel Radford and Ethel Loretta Land Litchford in De Queen, Arkansas, on September 11, 1941. He was a retired truck driver, having his own truck. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Horatio, and enjoyed trucks, deer hunting, fishing, and the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Patricia Ann Briant
Mrs. Patricia Ann Briant, age 90, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, February 7, 2015, in the De Queen Medical Center, De Queen.

She was born to C. R and Anna Kelly Tanner in Denton, Texas on November 28, 1924. She was a Christian, and a former employee of the Sevier County Museum. She enjoyed puzzles, bowling, and loved the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
