Mrs. Shirley Clardy
Mrs. Shirley B. Bell Clardy, 69, of Lockesburg died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Texarkana.
She was born to Clementon Richardson and Fay Bell Mitchell in Lockesburg on Sept. 17, 1947. She was a 1965 graduate of North High School in Wichita, Kan. She was a medical records clerk for the De Queen Medical Center for over 40 years as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Macedonia United Methodist Church of Lockesburg.
Funeral services were held Sept. 20 in the First Baptist Church of Lockesburg with Rev. Reginald Russell officiating. Burial followed in the Holly Springs Cemetery, Lockesburg.

Barbara Curtis
Mrs. Barbara Elizabeth Downs Curtis, 81, of De Queen died Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 in Dierks.
She was born June 23, 1936 in Pitcher, Okla. She was a lab technician for the city of Broken Bow, Okla., an auctioneer and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Beacon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church.

He was born April, 24, 1958, in De Queen. He was a former employee of Gra-Don and was a Baptist.

Gaylon Don Sides, 65, of Cherryhill died Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at UAMS in Little Rock.
He was born July 10, 1952, in Farmersville, Tex., to J.W. and Ivanell (Nell) Rhodes Sides.

Donald Ray “Donnie” Vann, 67, of Gillham, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at his home.

Jack Bennett, Jr.
Jack Bennett, Jr. ,68, formerly of Muncie, Ind. died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at his daughter’s home in De Queen.
He was born Nov. 26, 1948, in De Queen. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 32 years. He served as a Deacon at Christ Temple Global Ministries in Muncie.
Funeral services for Mr. Bennett will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, in the New Zion Baptist Church in De Queen with Rev. Jesse Miller and Elder Richard Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m Friday, Sept. 15 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Robbie Jo Goode Houser, 88, of Lockesburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 in Ashdown.
She was born to Henry Fuller and Lily Mae Staten Goode in Celeste, Tex., on March 11, 1929. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lockesburg and also the Lockesburg Quilting Club.
Graveside funeral services were held Sept. 2 in the Belleville Cemetery Pavilion in Lockesburg with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating. Burial followed in the Belleville Cemetery.

Bobby Joe "Louie" Ray, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2017 at his home.
He was born Jan. 8, 1936 to Harold "Hal" and Francis Florine Lichlyter Ray in Grannis. He attended Wickes High School and served one term in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen. He was an independent owner/operator truck driver contracted with Frozen Food Express until his retirement.
Funeral services were held Sept. 6 in the First Baptist Church of De Queen with Bro. Jerry Hill and Bro. Dan Ford officiating. Burial followed in the Valley Cemetery, Gillham.

Mrs. Velma L. Winship, 68, of Idabel, Okla. died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 in Idabel.
She was born July 24, 1949 in De Queen. She was a bail-bonds woman, had taught school at Haworth, Okla., and also worked for Weyerhaeuser. She was a Christian.

John Rodger Hutchison, 64, of De Queen died Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 at De Queen Medical Center.
He was born to William Chester and Myrtle Ruth Hume Hutchison, Sr. at De Queen, Dec. 4, 1952. He was a carpenter.

Mrs. Dorothy Virginia Harvey Stainton, known to many as “Dot Dot”, 89, of De Queen, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at her home.
She was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Jonesboro to L.C. and Alma Falls Harvey. She was a retired junior high school science teacher. She was a member of Sevier County Genealogy Society, a Girl Scout leader and a member of Chapter B, P.E.O. She was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Cloninger officiating. Burial will follow at De Ann Cemetery near Prescott.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m., Friday, before the service.
