The De Queen/Sevier County Chamber of Commerce has selected a new board to saerve during the 2019-20 year, and will be holding its 74th annual awards on Feb. 28. New board members are Lorie Jones of the Ranch House Cafe, Angela Smith of Bailey Discount Building Supply, Christy Gallegos of HealthCare Express, Emilee Vaught from Vaught Family Clinic, Chris Chandler of SmartPhone EMT (fulfilling Lance Pinkerton’s term), Amanda Billingsley of Avanna Boutique (fulfilling Misty McDonald’s term), and ZZ Kamruddin.
“We’re definitely excited about this year’s banquet,” said chamber executive director Suzanne Babb. “We will be introducing the 2019 board, and our membership will be well-represented with directors dedicated to serving our business’s needs, improving our county’s economy and supporting our local communities.”
Babb said the chamber will also be presenting the much anticipated community awards to the small and large business of the year, new construction, renovation-beautification, and citizen of the year and teacher of the year.
This year the banquet will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the De Queen High School cafeteria. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and food service will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Prior to the presentation of business and community service awards, a silent auction will feature items donated by the membership.
Tickets for the banquet are $23 each. Tables can be reserved with purchase of eight or more tickets by calling 870-584-3225 or emailing email@example.com. Businesses or organizations reserving a table are eligible to enter the table decorating contest, though Babb wanted to remind participants that the “beautiful” centerpieces should not be so high as to block visibility from the surrounding tables.
