De Queen/Sevier County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Suzanne Babb announced that she will be leaving her position at the chamber in order to dedicate more time to her family business. In an email to chamber members, Babb said that she will remain as Chamber Ambassador and provide support for business retention and projects that are still ongoing.
“The past two years have been a whirlwind of changes, challenges, and growth for the chamber — and for myself,” Babb wrote in the email. “I have been privileged to work with individuals and organizations on local and state levels that share a passion for small business owners, and who are striving to find solutions to the challenges our business owners face daily. I am proud of how our city, county, and chamber leaders work together to make good things happen in our corner of Arkansas.”
The chamber board is looking to fill the position with someone that will will initiate, develop, and support economic development activities in the service area of Sevier County. Requirements for the job include demonstrated competency with computer software programs including MS Word, MS Publisher, Excel, Power Point; The ability to communicate effectively with the chamber board, members and prospects; And the ability to develop and maintain relationships with elected officials and representatives of state agencies.
