City of Lockesburg announces closures

In order to protect the public from further spread of COVID-19 and to assist with the governor’s directives to limit social distancing, the city of Lockesburg will be closing the following city facilities to the public: Ida Margaret Coulter Stone Park, City Shop, City Hall.

The closures are effective March 31, 2020, and until further notice.

Residents are encouraged to handle business online and by phone as employees of the city of Lockesburg continue to conduct business and remain accessible via phone and email.

Those needing to make payments may do so by phone at 870-289-3261, or mail P.O. Box 14 Lockesburg, or drop box at city hall.

If you need to speak to a city employee or if you have an existing appointment with an employee in this facility during its normal operating hours, please call 870-289-3261 and someone will assist you.

A city-owned facility can be any facility, including, but not limited to buildings, recreation areas such as parks and playgrounds, and property owned, leased, or otherwise operated, or funded by a governmental body or public entity. 

King Art Show postponed

CACA 49th King Art Show has been postponed until Oct. 2,3 and 4.

Any questions, call Nancy Youngblood 479-216-1537. The show was scheduled for May 1,2 and 3. 

Couthouse closed for Good Friday

The Sevier County Courthouse will be closed Friday, April 10 in observance of Good Friday.

District Court dates changed

District Court April Court Dates” will all be moved to May.  April 14 court date will be moved to May 12 and April 28 court will be moved to May 26. They might want to call our office at 870-584-7311 before those dates to make sure court will be held. 

Sevier County Extension Service contacts

Smeone will be in the Sevier County Extension Office. If you need to visit the office,, call ahead at (870) 584-3013.  If you have agri samples (soil, hay, hog water, etc.) for us to send off, call the office for instructions.

At this time a child in foster care needs your help. You will be the person who will listen when no other person can, you will advocate for the best interest of these children in court, at school, and in the community. You will help them find a safe permanent home. You can support a child who has been abused and/or neglected. Become a volunteer with CASA!
