Courthouse closings

In observance of the New Year’s holiday, the Sevier County Courthouse, Landfill and Solid Waste Satellite Stations will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.


City Hall closings

City Hall will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day. Trash schedule for the week of Dec. 31 will be as follows: Monday will stay the same. Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will remain the same.


De Queen mayor to be honored at retirement reception

De Queen Mayor Billy Ray McKelvy will be honored at a retirement reception Friday, Dec. 28 from 2-4 p.m. at the Herman Dierks Park Community Building.


Blood drives

LifeShare Blood Center has the following community drives scheduled for December:

Walmart, 926 E. Collin Ray Drive, De Queen, Dec. 27 at from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., 

Mitchell Medical, 155 Highway 71 North, De Queen, Dec. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

LifeShare Blood Centers is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday. To sign up to donate or for more information call 903-794-3173.


Become a CASA volunteer

At this time a child in foster care needs your help. You will be the person who will listen when no other person can, you will advocate for the best interest of these children in court, at school, and in the community. You will help them find a safe permanent home. You can support a child who has been abused and/or neglected. Become a volunteer with CASA!
