Gillham EHC to meet

Gillham Extension Homemakers Club will be meeting Friday, July 13 at the home of Judy Vann-Hamilton. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. and last until around noon. Lunch will be provided. Homecoming July 15 at Green’s Chapel

Green’s Chapel Methodist Church annual homecoming will be Sunday, July 15, 2018. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Carroll Jackson, speaker. Lunch will follow at noon in the fellowship hall. Fellowship hall will also be open Saturday, July 14.


Fish fry fundraiser

Cerro Gordo Cemetery Association will host a fish fry fundraiser Saturday, July 21 at the Cerro Gordo Fire Department. Serving will begin at 6 p.m. Eat in or take-out is available. All monies raised go towards the upkeep of the cemetery.


Vacation Bible School

Wickes Church of Christ will be holding Vacation Bible School July 23-25 from 9:15 a.m. until 12 noon each day. Children, ages three to sixth grade, will be studying The Bee-Attitudes, and receive a free t-shirt on the last day. The church is located north of Wickes on Hwy. 71 on the left side of the highway.


Revival at Old Center

Old Center Church will be in revival with Rev. and Mrs. Mark Compton Tuesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 29. Services are 7 p.m. nightly except for Sunday when service will begin at 6 p.m. For more information contact Pastor Paul Hillis, 903-276-9902. Old Center Church is located at 143 Old Center Road in Horatio.


St. Barbara to begin summer food program

St. Barbara Catholic Church is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. 

There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at Saint Barbara Catholic Church, Pastoral Center, 503 W. De Queen Ave. in De Queen June 13 through August 10 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4-6 p.m.
