This week was a busy week in the Cliffs and neighboring communities. The Roland Piggee Church had regular church service, which was well attended. Bible class was held Monday night. We never get enough time together around the Word. That is our strength for the day. It also helps to cope with all the things that are happening in our country these days. It seems we always have some stressful situation going on.

The Coulter family wishes to thank everyone who showed compassion and love to their family during the home-going of their family member, Freddie Jewell Coulter, on Friday. May God bless each family.

There is a saying that says, “when it rains, it pours”. I guess you can say that is what’s happening in our community. We are so sorry to announce the home-going of Leader Pearl Piggee on Sunday morning and Juanita Langum on Monday afternoon. These families are really in need of our prayers. Would you just take a moment of silence for these families and say a prayer? Thank you. Ms. Piggee will have a viewing on Friday from 6-8 at Piggee Memorial and services on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., same place. There is no other information available for Ms. Langum.

I had a surprise this week, my niece, Ms. Hunter and family, visited me on Wednesday and Thursday from Southfield, Mich. We had a lovely time. I enjoyed getting the attention from my niece which I have spent time helping to raise. I find it is good to sew into young people. They grow up and bless you.

A good shout out to all the people who share April birthdays: Goldie Wilson, Irene Hendrix, Mary Crosslin and Maurice Crosslin. I do hope your day is the best.

Christian Refresher: Matthew 26:24-29 KJV

The son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

Then, Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

And as they were eating, Jesus took the bread and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said Take, eat; this is my body.

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
