The Gillham VFD and first responders have been busy fighting grass fires and planning the fire safety day for kids which will be held Aug. 18. They meet next Tuesday at the fire department at 6 p.m.  The department consists of 60 percent females and 40 percent males. Don’t think you have to be a man to be a firefighter or first responder. Come on out and see what these men and women are all about.

Growling dogs have gotten to be a problem in some parts of town. I have heard of people getting barked at and growled at when getting out at the post office and library. Please report this if you have any problems with them.
