DE QUEEN

The library wishes to thank everyone who donated items for the sweater drive and the items for food for fines. With all the donations we will have some warm and happy people this holiday season.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. The ladies of the De Queen Library wish you all have a safe and happy holiday. To celebrate Christmas from December 3 through 17 each time you check out a book you can put your name in a drawing to win a $100 gift card from Walmart.

December 15 will be our third annual “Cocoa with Mrs Claus”. There will be a story time and fun at 11 a.m. There will be cocoa and goodies for the first 30 children and there may be a surprise visitor.

December is the month for Christian Fiction. We will have a great display of books for check out to get you in that Christmas Spirit.

“Activities” every Wednesday at 10 a.m. We offer Dominos, games, cards, coloring and more! Call the De Queen Branch at 584-4364 for more information.

HORATIO

The Horatio Library will be having an open house called “Cocoa and Cookies with Mrs. Claus” on December 22 from 9 until 12.  Mrs. Claus will be there at 10 a.m. to read a story to the children. There will be games, crafts and other activities for the kids. At 11 there will be a surprise visit from Santa. Santa will have a stocking full of goodies for the first 25 kids. There will be hourly door prize drawings and refreshments will be served. They also have Bridge at 1 p.m.  and Dominos at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays for the adults. They will continue the food drive through the month of December. Any non-perishable item can be dropped off at the library during regular hours. We hope you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

LOCKESBURG

The Lockesburg Library will on Saturday, Dec. 8 host a Christmas Tea between 10-11:30 a.m. Join us and bring your own teacup! There will be a prizes for the most interesting cups brought.

Children’s Christmas programs that are planned in December will be Thursday, Dec.13 at 1 p.m. and Saturday, Dec.15 at 10 a.m. A special display of “Christmas Books” has been set up at the Lockesburg Library. How better to get in the mood for the season than to read a Christmas novel? Whether it is a Christmas Tea, children’s programs or best-selling novels, fun of all kinds are waiting for you with Mz. Wendy and the Lockesburg Library.

GILLHAM

The Gillham Library has the new Mary Higgins Clark book, “You Don’t Own Me” and “Alaskan Holiday” by Debbie Macomber. They will have a “Story Time and Craft Day” on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the usual time. Young Mason Hobbs is going to present the program. They will have a movie day on Saturday, Dec. 15. For more information call 870-386-5665
