There were no emergencies reported in White Cliffs, Graves Chapel or Paraloma this week. Everything was quiet except for a few thunderstorms with quite a bit of rain. I hope I am not the only one who observed all this weather, because sometimes my neighbors don’t hear a thing, especially if it’s at night. My neighbors all are sound sleepers and don’t hear the rain.
Piggee Memorial Church celebrated Black History Month with a service for the young people. Ms. Dana Greenlee was in charge. The children recited some of the great accomplishments attained by our ancestors with the idea that anyone has the opportunity to be great. There is still plenty yet to be done, and in order to get it done one must be committed and prepared for excellence. This is the work for the next generation. Be strong, be committed and be encouraged.
We still have several of our community residents in nursing homes, rehab, or recovering at home. Prayers are requested for the following: Leader Pearl Piggee, Beneather Graves, Flossie Calvin, Goldie Wilson, George Ware, Dante Crosslin, Quan Maxwell and Price Savage. I am getting therapy at the Nashville outpatient clinic. Prayers also for Naomi Jones, Lettie Nicholson and Delores Scoggins.
Christian Refresher: Isaiah 40:28-31 KJV
Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God the Lord, the Creator of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint: and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall fall.
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Faith in God gives Christians the absolute confidence that He is working for good in our lives even when all the evidence and emotions point to what is bad in our lives.
Love is the key!
