Horatio Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, April 8 in the administration building with all members present.
The board renewed the K-12 Culinary Connection food service contract and the food service procurement plan for the 2019-20 school year. The board approved the certified and classified salary schedules and school choice list.
The board voted to accept resignations from Sidnie Collum and retirement resignations from Lance Spigner, Janet Potts, and Melissa Liggin, effective June 30, 2019. They voted to name Stephen Sprick head baseball coach and Curtis Black, athletic director and hired Amy Smith, as instructional facilitator/dyslexia coordinator, for the 2019-20 school year.
Principals, Susan Nelson and Stephanie Rowe gave reports to the board. Elementary has applied for an ALE program and I-Station testing for grades K-2 is completed. High School has agreed on English-Language Arts curriculum from Pearson Educators, that is digital and cost approximately $36,000 for all students in 7-12.
Routine reports and financial statements were also approved.
