Horatio Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, Oct. 8 in the elementary cafeteria. 

Sevier County Sheriff Robert Gentry, Chad Dowdle and Nikki Sharp addressed the board about training and certifications for armed staff members. This was information only and no action was taken.

Curtis Black presented wellness committee survey and ESL information for the district. Elementary principal Susan Nelson and high school principal, Stephanie Rowe presented preliminary ACT Aspire test scores for their respective schools.

The board accepted bid on 2004 Dodge truck and approved architect agreement with Architecture Plus, Inc.  Board members approved cycle 2 statement of assurance and adding gate keepers on salary stipends. The board voted to approve to contribute monies from district to gym floor, approved monthly bills, and financial statements as presented.
