On June 12, De Queen Police Sgt. Wayne Baker, Ptl. Robert King and Ptl. Jarrin Platt were dispatched to a residence in reference to a man that was possibly acting violent.

Officers talked to individuals at the residence and identified one of the subjects as being Roger Godoy, 28, of De Queen. Police alleged that Godoy was uncooperative and began cursing loudly, and as officers went to place him into custody, he broke free but Platt was able to take him down. Platt sustained an injury to his left elbow during the struggle.

Godoy was then placed into custody and transported to the Sevier County Jail where he was cited for public intoxication, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and battery in the 2nd Degree (felony).

Case files have been turned over to the Ninth West Judicial Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for potential forthcoming criminal charges.
