A De Queen man, Freddie Stubbs, 50, was charged and held in custody at the Sevier County Jail on Friday, May 10, on charges of terroristic threatening after he made bizarre statements to his family.
According to the sheriff's department, the incident began when deputies took a report from Vanessa Stubbs, who stated that on the morning of Thursday, May 9, her husband, Freddie Stubbs, was acting strange. She said that he kept accusing her and other family members that they were doing things around the house to make him think he was going crazy. She stated that he told her there were people out in the woods watching him and that he was going to burn the house down.
On Friday, he advised her that he was going to shoot her. A protection order was served on him Saturday, May 11, and he was charged with terroristic threatening.
