Lockesburg

Lockesburg City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, Aug. 10, in the new senior citizen’s building. The media was notified of the meeting.

Mayor Danny Ruth called the meeting to order to 6:50 p.m. followed with prayer by Mayor Ruth and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Those in attendance were Mayor Danny Ruth, Recorder Treasurer Becky Jegstrup, Council members Rodger Ridley, Bill Roberts, Claudine Tompkins, and Steven Hill and Deputy Municipal Clerk JoAnna Giusti. Council members Sandy Webb and Fran Williams were absent.

Guest in attendance was Janet Bullard.

A motion was made by Tompkins and seconded by Hill to purchase a time clock for the city shop building.  Motion passed 4/0/0.

Mayor Ruth informed the Council the AR DOT grant would be used to pave S. Park, Provo Rd., and West Pine at the cost of $306,890. The grant is for $300,000. A motion was made by Roberts and seconded by Tompkins to approve the payment by the city for the additional $6,890 to be taken from the settlement CD.  Motion passed 4/0/0.

A motion was made by Hill and seconded by Roberts to approve the 2020 water sewer audit.  Motion passed 4/0/0.

A motion was made by Tompkins and seconded by Ridley to approve the minutes from the July 20, 2021 council meeting. Motion passed 4/0/0.

A motion was made by Roberts and seconded by Ridley to approve the budget and financial reports for July 2021. Motion passed 4/0/0.

After a brief discussion, a motion was made by Hill and seconded by Tompkins to purchase a rotorooter. Motion passed 4/0/0.

After a brief discussion, a motion was made by Ridley and seconded by Hill to purchase a turntable for the side winder John Deere bush hog. Motion passed 4/0/0.

A motion was made by Tompkins and seconded by Hill to allow JoAnna Giusti to buy the old computer monitor for $10. Motion passed 4/0/0.

A motion was made by Tompkins and seconded by Ridley to remove the electrical work for the Lockesburg Fire Department from the agenda. The Fire Department wanted it tabled until spring so they could have a fundraiser to help pay for it. Motion passed 4/0/0.

A motion was made by Roberts and seconded by Ridley to approve the July bills. Motion passed 4/0/0.

A motion was made by Tompkins and seconded by Hill to adjourn. Motion passed 4/0/0.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:17p.m.
