A Lockesburg woman, Leah Daughtery. 51, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after sheriff officials were called out to the Dollar General store in Lockesburg in regard to a suspicious person call.
Sevier County Deputy Greg Davignon was dispatched on Friday, March 8, to check on a person "who may be under the influence," sitting in a grey Chevrolet.
Upon arrival, Davignon came in contact with Daughtery, who was sitting in the vehicle in the parking lot. As he approached the vehicle, he noticed an open can of beer in the console of the vehicle Daughtery was operating. Daughtery was asked to exit the vehicle and upon further search, Davignon located a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine, two glass smoking pipes used to smoke methamphetamine and a syringe used to inject methamphetamine.
Daughtery was arrested and charged.
