Gifts

Operation Christmas Child is a division of Samaritan’s Purse. Shoeboxes filled with fun toys, school supplies, and hygiene items are sent to children in need all over the world to show God’s love. This is the first gift many of these children have ever received. Since 1993 more than 157 million shoebox gifts have been delivered in more than 160 countries and territories. In 2017 the goal is to reach another 11 million children.

Anyone can make a shoebox whether it be individuals, churches, or organizations. Samaritans Purse is a non-profit organization. You can also build a box online at Samaritanspurse.org/occ.

National collection week is Nov. 12-19. First Baptist Church in Horatio is a drop off location for Operation Christmas Child. The days and times for collection are as follows:

November 12, 13, 15, 16 from 5 until 7 p.m.; November 14 from 4 until 6 p.m.; November 17 and 19 from 9 until 11 a.m.; November 18 from 3 until 5 p.m.
