The 38th Annual Senior Appreciation Day, themed Super-Heroes, Super-Health,  will be held on the county courthouse lawn on May 24, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.  The event begins at 9 a.m. and usually runs until 1 or 1:30 p.m.

According to Sevier County Judge Greg Ray, the day’s events will feature local band Argenbright, and up to 32 vendors.

Pilgrim’s will provide a chicken lunch, the senior center will provide beans and cole slaw, and Simple Simon’s will bring the dessert.

“There will be a lot of door prizes, the oldest man, oldest woman and longest marriage contests as well,” Ray said.

The event honors seniors 55 and older.
