Bobby McWhorter

Bobby McWhorter, age 75, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at his home.

He was born June 17, 1943, in Lockesburg. Mr. McWhorter served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church. He was also a former Sunday school superintendent and Deacon, as well as a logger, and cattle farmer. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop. He might have been a very quiet man, but his love for others spoke volumes.

Mr. McWhorter was preceded in death by his father, William Aaron McWhorter; one son, B.J. McWhorter; one grandson, Austin Brackett; and one brother, Jerry McWhorter.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Pruitt McWhorter; one daughter, Terry Brackett; his mother, Amy Jane Crunk McWhorter; two brothers, Billy McWhorter and Jimmy McWhorter all of Lockesburg; one sister, Diana Shaw of Nash, Texas; one grandson and fiancé, Aaron Brackett and Kara Walker; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. McWhorter will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2019, in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with John Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11th at the funeral home.
