Charles Liggin

Charles Edward Liggin, age 86, a resident of Lockesburg, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born on September 11, 1932, to George Edward and Gennetta Harris Liggin in De Queen. He worked on the railroad for D&E during the 1950s and 60s and later worked in the timber industry. He was a member of the Prairie Branch Hunting Club and was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 20 years, Margorie McWhorter Liggin and one son, Randall Liggin, both passing in the 1980s; one great-grandchild, Latasha Leathers; three great-grandchildren, Alana, DJ and Kayle Leathers; four brothers, Frank, Glen, Fletcher and Walter Liggin; and four sisters, Callie Ross, Lillie McWhorter, Annie McNeice and Velma Liggin.

He is survived by two sons, Eddie Liggin, and Tony Eugene Liggin, both of Lockesburg; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, as well as, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Old Union Cemetery with Bro. Wesley Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 16, at the funeral home.
