Dixie Louise Cavender

Dixie Louise Cavender, age 97, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, October 3, at her home.

She was born May 19, 1922, in Ultima Thule, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a member of Kern Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cavender was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Lee and Effous M. Wolf Willis; her husband, Vernon Claude Cavender; two daughters, Nan Cavender and Maria London; two brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Jan Cavender of De Queen; two sisters, Hope Gore of De Queen and Polly Williams of Horatio; seven grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews

Graveside memorial services for Mrs. Cavender were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 10, at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Clark LeForce officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
