Dr. Edward Dean Revels

Dr. Edward Dean Revels, age 86, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Monday, May 18, 2020, at his home. 

He was born September 12, 1933, in Sardis Community in Arkansas. He was a graduate of Lockesburg High School and then from Loyola Dental School in New Orleans in 1960. In August of 1960 he established Edward D. Revels, DDS in De Queen and practiced dentistry for 59 years and 10 months. Dr. Revels was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen and enjoyed farming, ranching, and working in his garden. Many people benefited from his love of gardening. He loved his family and the Arkansas Razorbacks. 

Dr. Revels was preceded in death by his parents, John Edgar and Madge Christian Revels; one son, Paul Revels; one brother, Richard Revels; and two sisters, Ruth Hudgins and Beatrice Watts.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Hall Revels; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Maribeth Revels; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan Fitzsimmons and Dee Ann and Ronnie Toye all of De Queen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lonnie and Charlene Revels and Bob and Mary Revels all of Texas; six grandchildren, Sarah Morphew, Kaylen Lewis, Blake Toye, Randee Toye, Christian Jennings, Robby Fitzsimmons; six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Graveside funeral services for Dr. Revels will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Lockesburg Cemetery with Bobby Fischer officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen. 

General viewing will be from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20th at the funeral home.
