Mrs. Imogene Gentry Tidwell, age 89, a resident of Wickes, died Friday, August 9, in Nashville.

She was born August 28, 1929 in Van Alstyne, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Vandervoort Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; William Carl and Claudia Inez Bishop Gentry; a brother, Albert Gentry; and a granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, John Milburn Tidwell of Wickes; two daughters, Patricia Towry of Wickes and Paula Dickerson of Van Buren; one son, Mitchell Tidwell of Wickes; one brother, William Gentry of Granbury, Texas; her seven grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Tidwell were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 12, in the Crystal Hill Cemetery in Wickes with James Squires officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
