Kerry D. Chapman

Kerry Dean “Chappy” Chapman, age 66, a resident of Idabel, Okla. died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at Idabel.

He was born on Oct. 3, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Thurman and Jewell Matthews Chapman. He was a graduate of Smithville High School and served in the U.S. Navy for over 21 years. He then went to work for De Queen as a probation officer where he completed his career and retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Wayne Chapman; sister, Mary Ann Hill and his brother, Terry Hal Chapman.

Survivors include his wife, Tita Chapman of the home; sons, John Yarbrough of Springhill, Fla. and Bryan Chapman of Idabel, Okla.; daughters, Jaquelyn Smith and Christylynn Weilert of Wichita, Kan.; brother, Lee Branscum of De Queen; sister, Debbie McGuffin of De Queen; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at White Family Funeral Home in Idabel.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at the White Family Chapel. Interment followed at the Denison Cemetery.
