Otho Derle Houser, age 76, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, June 3, 2019 in Ashdown.
He was born to Alvie M. and Maxine Ruth Stallard Houser on January 4, 1943, in Lockesburg. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served 20 years in the U. S. Army. He was also retired from Pilgrim’s Pride, where he worked 30 years in maintenance. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Deloris Dixon, and Othetta Chilcoat.
Survivors include his wife of almost 39 years, Marilyn Hennard Houser, a daughter, Sherri Caldwell of Mineral Springs; a son, Kevin Acklen of Alma; two daughters, Melissa Hill of Nashville, and Kimberly Mitchell of Horatio; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Delwin Houser of Springfield, MO.; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 8 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Frachiseur and Rev. Sam Hendricks officiating. Burial with military rites will be held in the Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., June 7 at the funeral home.
