Thomas L. Petet, age 80, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Monday, December 2, 2019, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born October 13, 1939, in Lockesburg, Arkansas. He was a construction worker, owner and manager of PoCo Mart for 15 years, and retired as a truckdriver for Tobin Butane. Tom was a Christian and member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a Shriner and 32 degree mason. Tom retired from the De Queen Fire Department, served in the United States Army, served as Chairman of the Fireman’s Pension Review Board, and also served on the De Queen City Council.
Mr. Petet was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dean Province Petet; one sister, Mary Lou Martin; and one nephew, Steve Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Petet; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tracy Ferguson of Benton, Arkansas; two sons, Tracy Petet and Michael Petet; a daughter-in-law and husband, Alisa and Charles McElfresh of Benton, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Jennifer Clayton, Summer Robinson, Barrett Petet, and Emily Petet; four great grandchildren, Trudie Robinson, Landry Clayton, and Taylor Clayton; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Virginia Petet of Springdale, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Petet will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Carlton and Bro. Joe Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5th at the funeral home chapel in De Queen.
