Texarkana — The De Queen junior high teams and some individual senior high runners competed in the Warrior Invitational cross country meet at Trinity Christian in Texarkana Sept. 7.
No body came close to the Cubs in the junior boys team totals. De Queen finished with 33 points. Ouachita was second with 85. Finishing out the top five were Hermitage 97, Nashville 104 and Genoa Central 133.
Gustavo Garcia of De Queen finished second with a time of 9:46.89 over the 1.75 course.
Yandel Mendez was fifth in 10:01.71 and Carlos Aguilar sixth in 10:04.03.
Angel Gonzalez ran 10:22.58 for 10th place with Jonathan Perez 12th in 10:24.04.
Jesus Martinez placed 20th in 10:47.98 and Saul Felipe 38th in 11:37.71.
De Queen was fourth in the junior girls team scoring with 83 points. The top five included: Genoa Central Junior with 56, Nashville 69, Glenbrook 76 and Barton 131.
Emily Garcia was De Queen’s first finisher with a time of 12:10.31 to place sixth
Laura Figueroa ran 12:33.46 for 11th. Litzy Hernandez was 18th in 13:00.08. Alexa Monroy finished 29th in 13:33.60.
Presli Young clocked 13:49.49 for 35th place, Jaide Tatum 13:55.43 for 40th and Magaly Perez 14:08.54 for 50th.
Three Leopards were in the senior boys race. Miguel Diaz ran 19:38.77 over the 5K course to place 12th, Aldo Hernandez 24:38.67 for 69th and Alan Villamil 25:43.28 for 77th.
In the senior girls race Alicia Salazar clocked 28:53.01 for 40th and Jinnefer Lagunas 29:22.06 for 43rd.
