The De Queen soccer teams opened their home season with wins over Cossatot River March 7.

Senior Girls

The Lady Leopards won 7-2. They took the lead when Sara Victoriano scored with 35:10 left in the first half.

De Queen goalie Julissa Cuevas made a save as the clock neared 32 minutes.

Victoriano made her second goal with 29:50 in the half, but CRHS cut the gap to 2-1 when Ashlan Gonzalez scored with 27:24 before the break.

The Lady Leopards had a 4-1 advantage at the halftime intermission after two more Victoriano goals. One came at 19:31, the other on a penalty kick at 13:01.

Dennise Tellez found the net with 32:59 remaining in the game for a 5-1 lead.

Victoriano put in a short left footed shot to make it 6-1 at 28:56.

Gonzalez scored again for Cossatot River with 10:46 to go.

The final goal of the contest came from De Queen freshman Daphne Villeda with 7:21 to go.

Senior Boys

The scoring was more varied, but just as plentiful for De Queen in the boys game. The Leopards took this one 8-1.

Sebastian Bahena

Fernando Morales got the goals going when he scored with an assist from Stevie Rodriquez 92 seconds into the game.

Sebastian Bahena got the second goal with a chip shot at 24:28.

The count went to 3-0 when Alberto Sandoval headed in a corner kick by Chris Castellanos with 16:24 to go in the first half.

Sandoval scored again at 13:02. This time he drilled a low line drive into the net off a pass from Rodriquez to raise the score to 4-0.

Jampiere Flores scored back to back goals. The first with an assist by Castellanos, the second with an assist by Morales.

Bahena picked up his second goal with Kevin Villeda providing an assist.

The final goal came with 1:19 remaining in the game when freshman Edwin Garcia put in a free kick.

The Eagles avoided a shutout with a goal with 6:21 left in the game when Daniel Alarcon scored on a breakaway.
