Jorge Vega

Leopard safety Jorge Vega takes the feet from under Mena's Jake Wiles last week in Mena.

The Leopards will be on the US 71 for the second week in a row, this time heading south instead of north. De Queen will face Ashdown at 7:30 Friday.

The Panthers are coming off a 30-20 loss to Hamburg. "They have a very good defense overall," said De Queen head coach Stephen Sloan.

"They have a great front four, two big physical linebackers and four guys in the secondary who can flat out run."

Offensively, the Panthers have some similarity with the Leopards. "They're starting a sophomore quarterback," said Sloan. "They are trying to get their running game going to set up passes. They have a lot of speed on offense too."
