Tanner Manasco claimed a spot among the highest echelon of Leopard athletics May 12 at Lake Hamilton. The senior hurdler won his event at the Meet of Champs.

The senior hurdler clocked 38.92 to take first place in the 300 meter intermediates, well ahead of second place Adrian Block of Prescott who finished in 39.25.

Manasco is only the fourth De Queen athlete to win at the end of the track season meet. The first was Corinna Soto, the second Rex Hamel. Both won the 3200 meter run. Maurice Moore won the discus at last year’s meet to become the third.

In addition to his first in the intermediates, Manasco also placed fourth in the 110 meter highs with a time of 15.10.

Junior Hector Hernandez placed fourth in the 800 meters in a personal best of 1:58.46, the second best time ever by a Leopard.
